“They Started a New Life Without Me.”

If dogs could speak and tell us why they ended up homeless in a shelter, this is what they’d say.

Django would tell his story of losing his family when they moved to a new home. For the first several months of his life, his People were his world. When they were forced to move for whatever reason, he landed in the shelter homeless, alone, and completely petrified. The loud noises and unfamiliar smells caused him to “shut down” and become emotionally unresponsive.

According to the ASPCA, housing issues account for 18% of the need to re-home pets.

Django came to Hard Knocks November 2019 and found his forever home in January of 2020.
